ornate details

18Jun11

I admired this stencil I found on a sidewalk in Budapest. I suppose the artist handmade the stencil so that it relates to the ornate designs that are incorporated in doorways and detailed areas of buildings throughout the city. Something about seeing a similar design on the ground, from one person’s recent handiwork, invokes a different level of appreciation for that which is at eye-level. I imagine this viewpoint is particularly refreshing for locals in Budapest.
