stripes under bridge
Happy new year! Here’s a photograph of a public art piece I saw in London, under a bridge en route to the Tate Modern. Stripes of color sure bring life to a shaded tunnel area consumed by road and sidewalk. Note how the rails on the ceiling seem to continue into the painted stripes.

Hungarian Radio in Budapest has a figurative sculpture on its surface, rather than free-standing in front. Further, the figure is positioned so that he gives the impression of flight, complete with birds alongside him. Cheers to Budapest for an innovative application of an otherwise traditional sculptural form!
